Top 10 Best Upcoming MMORPGs - Best PC and PS3 Online RPGs.
78The Best Upcoming MMORPGS: 2010-2013
MMORPGs; The wait is finally over!
It's been a long time since a quality MMORPG has been released on the PC and if ever on consoles. Luckily, our time of wait is almost over with big hitters that should push the MMO gaming experience to a whole new level. This is especially true for console gamers aching for an in-depth MMO experience.
What are you waiting for? Check out our list of the Top 10 Best Upcoming MMORPGs for PC, PS3 and the Xbox 360.
#10: Lego Universe
Lego Universe is definitely not your normal MMO, which sometimes turns people off. The reason Lego Universe made it at #10 on our list is the sheer fact that it's something completely original. Lego is pushing for a creative experience during an online gaming session for all ages. Sadly, this means lots of young kids overloading the chat system with their usual whiny and cocky comments.
All in all Lego Universe should be a unique and fun experience for all but how long will this last? A person can only be a Lego figure for so long.
More info on this game can be found at: LegoUniverse.com
#9 Blade & Soul
Blade & Soul by NCSoft is taking on a new direction in MMOs. NCSoft is targeting not only the fantasy players but also the martial arts lovers. Blade & Soul looks to be a nice break from the traditional MMOs but also a break from the lack luster free-to-play martial arts based MMOs martial arts fans are accustom to.
Hopefully Blade & Soul takes off and allows for something different and unique to hit the MMO market.
#8: Star Wars: The Old Republic
Star Wars: The Old Republic is looking awesome! If it wasn't for all the other awesome titles coming out this one would be even closer to the top. Star Wars: The Old Republic takes advantage of the Star Wars Universe giving any Star Wars fan the most bang for his buck. The graphics shown so far look to be superior to most other MMOs on the market today so I would advise you to update your rigs if you wish to play lag free.
The best part about this game is that you don't have to be a Star Wars fan to enjoy it. It's played like every other MMO on the market and the story is told so that everyone can understand it.

#7: The Agency
With Sony's announcement of The Agency PS3 owner's world wide had their prayers answered, finally an MMO for the PS3. The Agency takes a different route in the MMO genre utilizing a modern day theme based on spys and criminals. This game is going to be a hit but it's all too common to see non-fantasy type MMOs completely disappear off the face of the earth within a couple months.
Luckily, this game has the support of many PS3 owners and of course Sony. Together these two groups should be able to keep this MMO alive and kicking for some time to come.

#6: DC Universe Online
It's finally time to make your DC super hero dreams come true with DC Universe Online. Fight crime or create crime it's all up to you in the open hero MMO from DC. DC Universe Online is an a title for both the PS3 and the PC, hopefully they can figure out a way to make the controller work just as well as a keyboard and mouse.
This is a big time title supported by two huge companies Sony and DC, odds are it's going to be a hit.

#5: Vindictus
Vindictus is looking awesome! These graphics are par none and insane! The brutality of this game is beyond any other MMO in history with blood going everywhere. Vindictus has gotten a lot of attention as of late and looks very promising. Hopefully you have time to upgrade your computer before this one hits store shelves.

#4: Tera
Tera, "the first true action MMO", is set in the traditional fantasy theme and looking absolutely amazing. The level of detail and creativity put into the Tera environment and architecture is immense. What really makes Tera stand out is it's fast paced real-time "true action" combat system, this means no more click and wait battles for those looking for a little more excitement. I know what you're asking, "but does it have crafting", and yes! Yes it does!
Hopefully we'll see you in Tera in 2011 exploring the world or battling for "control of the Federation" at end.

#3: World of Warcraft: Cataclysm
With the introduction of two new player classes, Goblins (Horde) and Worgens (Alliance), and the destruction of the Eastern Kingdoms and Kalimdor this expansion is going to be a huge hit. I know, I know this is only an expansion and not a full game within itself. Normally I would agree but this expansion is bigger than most MMOs anyways so I figured it should be considered.
This expansion is going to be one the biggest in sales to date and should bring a lot of previous WoW players back for more.

#2: Final Fantasy XIV
Square Enix has done it again! Final Fantasy XIV looks breath taking and is going to be a must have for an MMO player on the PC or PS3. The game play is top-notch with an awesome battle system anyone can learn. It was hard putting this game in the #2 spot, but in all honesty I think it ties with the #1 MMO.

#1: Guild Wars 2
Ah finally, our #1 pick for Top 10 Best Upcoming MMORPGS. Guild Wars took the MMO world by storm with their free to play MMO system and has been growing ever since. Guild Wars 2 plans to take this to a whole new level making the game more open to roam than ever before. With this new feature alone Guild Wars 2 is sure to reach one of the top spots amongst all MMOs.

DC universe is for PC AND PS3, you can sign up for the beta on either at the moment.
BTW, DC Universe Online is NOT a PS3 Exclusive it's on the PC as well: http://www.amazon.com/DC-Universe-Online-Pc/dp/B00
Isn't Vindictus going to be free anyway so having it in the purchasing vote is pointless? :)
I'll correct myself, it's going to have no subscription, doesn't say anything about cost for purchase of the game yet.
Vindictus will be free 2 play in Nexon tradition but it will have cashshops for ingame items and various stat boosting stuff
LoL no TERA in the list?
Now thats a strange list #)
Just visit either of these two sites to see why most are voting Guild Wars 2: http://www.guildwars2.com/en/ and http://www.arena.net/blog/. Spend some time there researching and you will see that ArenaNet plans on revolutionizing the MMORPG genre with new ideas and concepts such as Dynamic Events in which players actually make a lasting impact in the world and not only that, but the world adapts to the players! NO specific professions that fit into holy trinity so everyone can play instead of worrying if they have a Tank/DPS/Healers (Any profession can fill the new roles coined Control/Damage/Support. ArenaNet intends to create professions which can switch between these roles just with widely different methods to achieve these play styles). Also, keeping it F2P is a big plus even though it is still a persistent game. Educate yourself so you can pick which game will be right for you!
Lego Universe and DC Universe Online both look awesome. I don't normally play MMO games but these two games might make me change my mind.

Congrats on your nomination and although I don't know much about the subject, very well done!
looks like you found a popular niche. So many from outside of HP. Kudos on your nomination. Good luck.
I'm really excited about these games. Thanks for the heads up.
Hello squishybug-welcome to hubpages and congratulations on your nomination for the hubnugget award. I am 'lost' in regards to this subject, but I bet my 16 yo nephew would understand exactly what you are writing about. Good luck with the contest and I look forward to reading more of your work. :)
The collection is great. I almost played every Game.
I am going to get both DC Universe online and SWTOR. I will play DC universe on my ps3 and use pc for SWTOR.
$30 a month isn't much if I am playing two great games. I just have to see how it works out.
Final fantasy online was such a huge dissapointment. Doesn't deserve to be on this list anymore.
Which one do you recomend to buy?? Im looking for a game rhat will keep me entertained for a long time, Any suggestions?
Check out my hub, still in progress.
dcuo is good but i cant wait for star wars the old republic its guna be epic i would suggest that the most out of this whole list and world of warcraft i would suggest keeping a great distance from as it becomes boring to the point of never wanting to play it again although i did have fun while i was interested in it
You put final fantasy as number two this was some good info till o seen that played it and fully believe square Enix should stick to what they do best stand alone RPGs maybe if they stopped trying the mmo's the ff series will pick up again coz they have been crap since 10.
I agree with the list but not the order.
Really should consider ordering the list by expected release date. When there is 1 year plus between listed games being released, you could easily start and leave a game in that time.
They should put the old republic game on ps3
Hey, DC universe is free now. I've tried it out, and I havta say, it captures the comic-book fun and adventure and exiting-flying-over-tall-buildings all too well. Totally give it a try, sometime.
looking forward to guild wars

The Superman game looks particularly interesting out of the whole list, though I wish it was for a PC as I don't have a console, and haven't had since 1995 lol
(This would be a great time to put a poll in this topic, and by the way...try to shorten your URLs for next time to what people may search for as Google may then rank it...this one is a mouthful lol)
:)
